Cover Letters

As part of business strategy at Pearson Education in the school division periodically catalogs were edited with English methods on high school, these catalogs were always accompanied by covers letters with the presentation of the catalog for later network business visit to subscriber and formalize textbooks as a method of year.

These books and texts were very vivid and colorful in order to connect with students who would work with those books compositions.

The publications were developed congorme to annual periods, first textbooks, supplementary materials later as Penguin Readers and dictionaries. Here are some sample letters that I make up. In the back they should always include commercial offices for quick contact or commercial response to the database.

Lolita the fairy

So bussy this weeks with finals and several projects running, but I found the time to do a new post.

This collection of children's books was designed in 2009 in hardcover, you can see the lines of registration above and down.

The author is Didier Lévy and the illustration was made by Benjamin Chaud. Benjamin is quite active online, you can google him I like his drawing style (so collage). I leave you a website:

Lolita is a ladybug, and in original version the title was "Little Lolita", also for the Spanish version was changed by " Lolita, the fairy".

As a good children's book we use some curios resources in the production, like bright color or glowing inks, inside the books, glitter and different textures. It was produced in China (they have the best technology for complex projects, and the communication isn't easy at all...) This is a common finished touch in that books because kid doesn't only read the book, they waste time exploring the book in so many ways.

Confectionery Books

Today I´m gonna introduce a series of cover who I design for a collection of bakery and that kind of cooking books: The books were lunched in 2010 and they run very well in the marked. I must to say that I had a perfect photos, in this way, the cooking books are to easy to do because a well done photo contribute to create a polished image.

The covers was produced in first edition, but in rustic cover with flaps. In the back flap do you have a recurrent resource, the cross over books of the same topic.

In extra we varnish the photos to create a 3d effect to stand out the quality of photos.

The translation it's something like Product + Limitless or by dozen. I have the books in home and from time to time think in try to cook something, but I´m afraid I'm gonna let down myself...

The editing in MARVEL

This is one class work that I developed the last year. We' have to make an investigation about how works the publishing and the commercial purpose of a well know company /author of the publishing world. We have some items suggestion but we can search another topic. There was a related item, the comic in general, but I decided to focus in a particular company. The MARVEL comic.
It takes long hours to research about the context of the company, and the different moments lived as business, but finally my work was one of the most successful in class. I know because we present the project and I received congratulations from my class mates and a big A+!! Choose this topic was very smart.

It has a great structure analyze every singles aspect from the company with multifunctional point of view.

At the end I decided to enclose six pages of the most well kwon characters of the MARVEL comic, and others not very well know.

I enjoy a lot this project, and some partners still remember... On the production there was die cutter on the cover who likes a lot!

Something curious, a couple of classmates make me an offer to buy the projects. I have clients and I even try!

Laddra Calling Card

This is a recent project. One of my friends has a animal shelter and she want to create a logo, roll up and card to promoted the solidarity association in events. She is very stylish and always take care of that kind of things, but she need to save money for the important things. We're working together to design the logo and different pieces for corner and solidarity market in which they take place.

The objective of this association is raise money to help abandoned animals. You probably don't know, but in Spain it's a big problem and I like to help in this issue when I have the opportunity.

I also have the chance to work whit fast printing to produce the design and I have to say that it's very interesting way of working and they are very efficient whit an organized web and systems.
Perhaps this it's the future of the personal production in short run.

We did different design for face and back and combine in different models. It's was produced with just an ink.
